Analysis of the relationship between school principals' leadership styles and teachers' job satisfaction

The aim of this research is, to examine the relationship between school principals' leadership styles and teachers' job satisfaction according to the teachers' opinions. The paticipants of this study were 272 teachers from 37 elemantary schools in İdil district of Şırnak province. The data were collected with Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Survey. At the phase of data analysis, Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used. The study revealed that there was low positive correlation between internal satisfaction and transformational and transactional leadership. The study also indicated that there was moderate positive correlation between external satisfaction and transformational and transactional leadership. Whereas, there was a low negatif correlation between laissez-faire leadership style and internal satisfaction and a moderate correlation between laissez-faire leadership and external satisfaction.
