Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine compassion levels and risky play allowance of parents with preschool children. The research was designed in the survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the research consisted of 700 parents of children between the ages of 4-6 who attended independent kindergartens affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and nursery classrooms within primary schools in the center and districts of Çanakkale province. "Personal Information Form", "Adult Compassion Scale" and "Risky Game Allowance Scale For 4-6 Years Children" were used as data collection tools in the research. As a result of data analysis, parents' compassion levels were high both in the sub-dimensions of the scale and in the overall total while parents allowed their children to play risky games at a low level. Also, negative significant relationships were found between the total of the compassion scale and the sub-dimensions of playing at very risky heights, playing with dangerous tools, playing at low risky heights, playing close to dangerous natural elements, and the total of the scale of allowing risky games.
