İnvestigation of the spacious conditions of the learning areas of pre-school education institutions: The case of Kars

Early childhood period covering the age range of 0-6; It refers to an important period of human life in which the child's physical, social, mental and emotional development is fastest. Preschool education institutions can be defined as educational structures established to support all kinds of development of children in a healthy way, where the educational programs needed for the developmental stages of children between the ages of 0-6 are implemented. A well-organized pre-school education institution is of great importance for the physical, social and mental development of the child. The aim of this study is to determine whether the spatial conditions of the learning areas of preschool education institutions and kindergartens are suitable for the development of children and to present a learning space design proposal that will support the development of children as users of the space, taking into account their comfort and needs. Within the scope of the research, face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted with 28 pre-school teachers, reflecting the full population, working in independent kindergartens affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the Central district of Kars province, on the current conditions and needed requirements of the learning areas and the spatial conditions of the learning areas of the researcher. Findings were reached as a result of the observations made specifically. The analysis of the findings obtained as a result of the study was carried out using the content analysis method, and a design proposal for the learning area that will support the development of children was presented by evaluating the information in the literature, interview and observation findings together.
