Social development of two language children in pre-school education

Globalization, economic problems, war and migrations kind of social incidents today require many societies and cultures to live together. But due to various reasons, multi-cultured, multi-lingual social structures are not supported all the time. This especially affects the social development of children negatively. The purpose of the study is the search of social development of bilingual children for the pre-school period. In this research, descriptive screen model has been evaluated. The population of the research consists of the pre-school teachers that work in Ministry of Education in Artuklu, the province of Mardin for the education period of 2014-2015. The data collection method used in the research has been prepared by taking the children's social development norms and processes for the pre-school period into consideration. Based on the findings it is specified that the social development of bilingual children is generally perceived positively but the bilingualism affects especially the communication with the adults negatively. As a result, it is concluded that the social development of bilingual children is an important issue that authorities and researchers should pay attention.
