Effects of creative drama techniques used in preschool education on the values acquisition of children

This research was conducted to examine the effect of creative drama method on preschool values education. As the concept of value is an abstract concept, it is necessary to choose how to give the pre-school children with a method. In this study, the effect of creative drama method on values education was examined. As the work done in this area was limited in theory, an attempt was made to carry out a more detailed research on the existing work. The control group consists of 20 children and experimental group consists of 20 children ın the study group. The experimental group of 20 children who were in preschool education in X Primary School in the academic year of 2017-2018; the control group formed 20 children who are in pre-school education in Y school located in Taşköprü district of Kastamonu province. After applying the pre-test on control and experimental groups, 'value education program based on creative drama' prepared by the researcher was applied on the experimental group and the test was completed in 13 weeks. While experimental work was in progress, normal activity was at routine period as well. After completion of the program applied to the experimental group, the final and retention tests prepared by the researcher via using 'Value Control Scale' were applied to both experimental group and the control group. A parametric and Independent T-test which is located in SPSS 17.0 and Repeated Measures ANOVA tests were used to examine the difference between the average scores in the pre-test, final test and retention test results. As a result of applied statistics; there is significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of pre-test and post-test scores; There was also a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the students in the experimental group.
