Abstract (EN)

School spaces (building and landscape spaces), which have an important place in public spaces, require effective planning, design, and management to be handled holistically to optimize the multifaceted services and contributions expected from them and to make them healthy, high quality, and zero carbon spaces. In the process of mitigating and adapting to the negative effects of climate change, which is accepted as a global problem today, school spaces need to be addressed in a multifaceted way in terms of discourse and action. This study aims to reveal the current situation of secondary school landscape spaces in Isparta city center and to put forward a sustainable and holistic strategic action framework that can adapt to climate change. The method stage of the study consisted of interrelated processes. In this context, a survey and SWOT analysis for landscape spaces were carried out for the current due diligence in secondary education schools (12 secondary schools), which were taken as an example in the city center of Isparta. In addition, with the survey study and TOPSIS analysis, the awareness and opinions of students and instructors about climate change and school places were determined. It was formed from the stages of making strategic action decisions for school places by determining basic/sub-criteria for measuring the current and possible performance status of school places in the adaptation process to climate change. As a result of the study, it was determined that secondary school landscape spaces are inadequate in terms of quality and quantity, at the end of the survey data analysis, the awareness of students and staff on climate change is high in the discourse dimension, but not at a sufficient level in the action dimension, and as a result of the SWOT and TOPSIS analysis, it was determined that there are multi-faceted deficiencies. However, in the study, the "MEBPERMOD" model was envisaged to determine the performance status of school spaces in the process of adaptation to climate change. As a result of the findings, 2 strategic goals, 9 objectives, and 32 actions were proposed for school landscape spaces.
