The analisis of leadership styles of school adminintratorsacording to views of teachers

It can be claimed that social change and development have occurred rapidly in today's world. For this reason, the importance of education, science and technology has increased. In order to provide social institutions to keep pace with the change and development, employees', especially administrators' qualities should be regulated. Schools are among those institutions too. This study aims to analyze teachers' point of views on leadership behaviors of administrators who work at schools. For this aim, in the study, after presenting theoreticalcal background of the topic, Bass's Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ), which was applied to teachers who has worked at nineteen different schools in the districts, Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Ümraniye, Ataşehir and Pendik in the Asian side of Istanbul, was analyzed. The universe of this study is the teachers who have taught at public schools in Istanbul. 457 teachers who teach at primary, secondary and high schools in the Asian side of Istanbul were chosen by using random sampling method. In the Study, Bass's Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) was used as a method of collecting data, and t-test was conducted to the groups in two demographic variables. One way analysis of variance, Anova was conducted in the circumstance which the data had more than two demographic variables. Post hos test was used in the circumstances which anova results were meaningful, and those results were presented as tables. According to the findings in the research, it was found out that there is a considerable relationship between the characteristics of the teachers like age and branch and their thoughts about the administrators.
