The problems faced by the school management in making efective use of information and communication technologies (ict) at schools (sample of Elazig)

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) which are met inevery phase of life, have taken its place among the indispensables of the people.ICT has immerged as a result of the consideration of knowledge sharing, and hasgained great importance in the educational institutions in recent years in order torealize higher quality education.This research has been done with the aim of determining the level of theproblems faced by the school management in effective use of ICT at schools inthe ?financial?, ?administrative?, ?program development and training?, and ?ethical?dimensions. The space of the research comprises of the teachers andadministrators working at the secondary schools in the city center of Elazıg. Thesample of the research consists of randomly chosen two administrators and fiveteachers from each secondary school. In order to obtain the views of the subjectsa questionnaire developed by the researcher himself has been used.Some recommendations have been made due to the findings obtained bythe statistical analysis of the data, for the aim of making more effective use ofinformation technology at schools.Key words: Information Technologies, Problems, School Management
