Abstract (EN)

This study deals with the evaluation of the effect of online grocery and food ordering applications (phone applications) on the food consumption of individuals aged 18-50 years. The popularity of online food ordering platforms has led to significant changes in food preferences and dietary habits. The research focused on the demographic characteristics, food preferences, online food ordering habits and food consumption patterns of the participants. In particular, how working hours affect the food preparation process, campaigns in food selection applications and the effects of such applications on the nutritional quality of individuals were analysed. The deep integration of technology into our daily lives is creating significant changes in the way we prepare, purchase and consume food. The study analyses the possible effects of these changes on the nutritional quality of individuals. Factors analysed include how in-app advertisements and promotions influence food preferences, how technology use is reflected in individuals' healthy eating habits, and what role online platforms play in food choice. The results of the study reveal that online food ordering and grocery store applications can affect individuals' dietary habits in both positive and negative ways. While some users may be attracted to healthier options due to the wider range of products and easy access, others may be attracted to higher calorie and processed foods through discounts and advertisements. The results show that food ordering applications and online grocery shopping have various effects on individuals' dietary habits. The study concluded that online food ordering and grocery shopping may lead individuals to consume more processed and high-energy foods. At the same time, it was also found that the use of these applications may allow some individuals to make more conscious and healthy food choices. The study provides important insights into how dietitians can effectively use technology to improve the dietary habits and overall health of the population. Keywords: Online food ordering, media and advertising in nutrition, obesity, eating disorders
