In this study, outstanding violin solos (concertmaster solos, duo solos, ensemble solos) in the literature of German, Italian, French and Turkish opera were examined and situations such as strengthening the expression, emphasizing the themes or similar intended use, intension of use, in which parts of the pieces these solos are seen more frequently are examined from different perspectives in accordance with the analyses made. The opera pieces included in the study were especially chosen from the ones with intense violin solos. Examples from the pieces by Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi in the Italian Operas section, by Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, Alban Berg, Engelbert Humperdinck and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the German Operas section, and by Jules Massenet and Charles Gounod in the French Operas section were included. In the continuation of this research, examples from the pieces of Okan Demiris and Selman Ada, the 3rd generation composers of the Republican Era, who gave a new dimension to the vocal music by including Turkish melodies and motifs in their operas, were selected and examined. The aim of the study is to contribute to the pupils, who are studying violin and wishing to work in opera orchestras, by introducing the solo violin repertoires included in the opera pieces through the examination of the outstanding violin solos in the World opera literature.
