Abstract (EN)
The effects of organic and mineral fertilizers on carbon release and organic carbon fractions in the soil were investigated in the experiement of Çukurova University Research and Application Farm in 1996 with 3 repetitions and 5 applications (organic and mineral fertilization). While the total and organic carbon concentrations and content of carbon fractions were measured highly in the plots where organic fertilizer applications were made, especially in animal manure and compost plots, the lowest in the inorganic fertilized plots and control plots. However, although carbon dioxide emission is higher in the plots where organic fertilizer application is applied compared to the plots applied inorganic fertilizer application, it was determined that more carbon is fixated to the soil from the atmosphere than inorganic fertilization areas in the areas where organic fertilization is applied. This revealed that carbon is kept in the soil for longer periods and in larger amounts, especially in the areas fertilized with animal manure.
