Abstract (EN)
Organic peroxide production and wastewater formation have a complex structure and contain high amounts of organic and inorganic substances. There is no existing study in the literature on the treatment of wastewater containing organic peroxide. In this study, together with electrochemical oxidation method, lime and iron sulfate as chemical treatment method, hypochlorite, persulfate and ozone methods as oxidation were studied under different experimental conditions. A glass reactor, 1 L, batch continuous stirred reactor was used to perform the electrochemical oxidation experiments. It consists of two vertically placed electrodes: (i) stainless steel anode, total area 25 cm2 (5 cm× 5 cm) and (ii) cathode, a stainless steel electrode with the following dimensions: 5cm×5cm. Electrodes were adjusted to 1.0 cm-4 cm spacing between the electrodes. The voltage was adjusted with a BK-Precision source (0-30 V, 0-5 A). The 80 mL reaction mixture was stirred at 240 rpm for 15 minutes. The test temperature was kept at 25 °C depending on the reactor jacket. Chemicals were added to wastewater at different doses, at different times and at different pHs, and the effects of these variables on the removal of existing pollutants were investigated. As a result of the study, as a result of electrochemical oxidation at pH=3, pH=6.5, pH=9 and pH=11, the COD removal decreased from 20000 mg/L to 8340 mg/L. At the end of the electrochemical oxidation process after chemical treatment, the wastewater COD was 7530 decreased from mg/L to 4560 mg/L. As a result of hypochlorite oxidation and ECO treatment, the COD level decreased from 17120 mg/L to 5600 mg/L. At the end of the persulfate and ECO treatment, the COD value decreased from 20000 mg/L to 8560 mg/L after 2 hours.
