Abstract (EN)

Performance appraisal is a process, aim of which is to determine personnels success, attitudes and behaviors at work, measures personnels additions to the success of company.In todays world, qualified human resource is the most important competitive force of companies. Taking company needs in to consideration and determining personnel competencies, deficiencies, education requirements and actions need to be taken in order to meet these requirements presents big importance.Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), as a public organization, made changes in personnel management system in order to employ the personnel who is qualified enough to work in complex battle fields of future. Therefore appraising performance of personnel accurately is at great importance.In TAF, judicial record system is in great importance since it effects personnel and his/her family life through effecting appointments, promotions, selection for duties abroad, selection for personnel and professional development programs.This study, by investigating the TAF judicial record system (performance appraisal system), gives advises in order to measure success at work and personnel qualities more accurately.Key Words: Performance, performance appraisal,
