Abstract (EN)
The province is a useful concept for interdisciplinary readings in social sciences. The attempt to study on representations of the province in Turkish novel includes the intersection of literature and sociology. The detachment of province and center is the natural consequence of Turkish modernization. The concept of province has experienced considerable transformations and changes in meaning within the social, political and cultural process. The evaluation of the literary works on establishment and transformation of the province is a reading of modernism.
