The evaluation of forest school applications contribution to the development of children

This study was done for the purpose of investigation forest schools' implementation on the development of pre-school children. In this context, the study group consisted of 7 children aged 48-60 months, who were attending kindergarten in Kovancılar district of Elazığ province in 2017-2018 academic year. The sampling of the study was determined by using convenience sampling. Nine-weekly implementation process was carried out in the scope of the research. In the research, the data were collected with 5 data collection tools which are "General Information Form", "Pre-Application Questions", "Activity Evaluation Form (Individual)", "Activity Evaluation Form (General)" and "Development Observation Form". By transcribing the collected data, content analysis was performed and, the code and the themes were created. As a result of the data, it was found that forest school practices affect positively children's cognitive development, language development, social and emotional development, motor development and self-care skills in some situations.
