Abstract (EN)

In addition to the rapid increase in the production of pepper, various problems have been growing rapidly and in particular constitute a significant weed problem. Broomrape (Orobanche aegyptiaca Pers. ) is a growing problem among the other weeds. All organisms have to adapt diseases and unfavorable condition. Environmental adaptation and diseases reactions of oxygenated radicals in the reactive oxygen species (ROS) can damage subcellular components. Thereby ROS damages firstly cellular level, then with tissue and at the end to organism and population. ROS neither the reaction against the increase in the endogenous nor exogenous antioxidants can be offset by supporting chemical applications. Some pepper varieties (Capsicum annuum L. cv. BT-016, Capsicum annuum L. cv. 11B-14, Capsicum annuum L. cv. Demre Sivrisi, and Capsicum annuum L. cv. Maxibell) which are cultivated in Çanakkale (Turkey) have been used in this research. In the interactions between pepper varieties and Orobanche aegyptiaca Pers. has been determined that the changes in antioxidant enzyme activities in the root and leaf tissues, lipid peroxidation level, content of pigment and growth parameters. Especially, it is determined that Demre Sivrisi and 11B-14 varieties have more antioxidant defence responses against broomrape infection than other varieties and are similarly revealed both in root tissues and leaf tissues.
