The Analysis of the effect of the sixth, seventh and eighth grade secondary school students life satisfaction and the perception of self- construal on the school burnout

This study has been made for the purpose of examining the school burnouts of secondary 6. 7. 8. grade student's in terms of their life satisfaction and self-construal. This research's workgroup comprise of the 506 students (Their ages are between 12 and 15. And there are 230 girls (45,5%) and 276 boys(54,5%)] attending their education in 6. 7. and 8. grades in three public schools and a private school from Esenyurt, Istanbul. School burnout scale which developed by Aypay (2011) for secondary second grade students, multi-dimensional student life satisfaction scale which developed by Huebner (1994) and adapted to Turkish from Çivitçi (2007), Family relational Autonomous Self scale which developed by Kağıtçıbaşı (2007) and adapted for high-schoool students by Özdemir and Çok (2011) have been used in this research. Anovai, t test, scheffe test, variance analysis, factor analysis and regression analysis have been used in order to test hypothesis . SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 20.0 has been used in analysis. As a resul of regression ,There is a negative relationship between student's burnouts and general life satisfaction – "autonomous-relational self –construals".Besides there is a positive relationship between general life satisfaction and "autonomous-relational self –construals" .On some of the burnout,life satisfaction and self-construal dimensions have been observed differentations in terms of student's sex,grade level,school types(Private or public),attending a course,using mobile phone and possessing an internet variables.
