Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine curriculum literacy levels and cognitive flexibility levels of secondary school teachers. The sample of the study consists of 595 secondary school teachers working in official institutions in Elazığ in the 2020-2021 academic year. Descriptive study method and correlational survey model were used in the study. Personal Information Form was used to collect data in the study while "Curriculum Literacy Scale" was used to measure curriculum literacy levels and "Cognitive Flexibility Scale" was used to measure cognitive flexibility levels. Diagnostic analyzes were performed for data analysis, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA); Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Analysis was used to examine the relationship between the scores obtained from the scales. When the cognitive flexibility levels are analyzed according to the graduated faculty, specialty, and seniority variables, they differ significantly. It was observed that curriculum literacy levels of secondary school teachers were high in reading and writing sub-dimensions. Curriculum literacy levels of secondary school teachers do not differ significantly according to the gender variable. A significant difference was found between the curriculum literacy levels of secondary school teachers according to level of education, faculty from which they graduated, specialty, and seniority variables. It was concluded that there was a low level of positive and significant relationship between the cognitive flexibility levels of secondary school teachers and their curriculum literacy levels. According to the results of the multiple regression analysis, it was determined that cognitive flexibility of secondary school teachers was an important predictor of their curriculum literacy levels. According to the data obtained at the end of the study, recommendations were presented for researchers and practitioners.
