Abstract (EN)
It is a fact that the hadiths of the Prophet were first memorized and transmitted orally. However, the existence of narrations from the Prophet regarding the prohibition and permission of writing hadiths has led to the emergence of different opinions about whether writing was used in the preservation and transmission of hadiths. In general, the dominant view in Islamic culture is; It is stated that in the first years of revelation, all attention was directed to the Quran and the writing of hadiths was prohibited in order to prevent material written outside the Quran from mixing with the Quran, and in the following years, after these concerns disappeared, the writing of hadiths was allowed and some hadiths were written. Due to the above-mentioned attitude of the Prophet Muhammad regarding the writing of hadiths, different ideas have been put forward by orientalists regarding the writing of hadiths. While some of them accept that the hadiths were written down from the time of the Prophet Muhammad, some argue that the hadiths were recorded in writing in the 2nd or 3rd century Hijri, long after the Prophet Muhammad, while others liken the issue to the Jewish oral-written tradition. Another claim put forward by orientalists is that the hadith writing debate emerged as a result of the conflicts between the people of hadith and the people of ray. In this thesis, the views of orientalists on the writing of hadiths were revealed and criticized, and an attempt was made to include the text and text criticisms of the narrations about the writing of hadiths from the Prophet Muhammad. Key Words: Hadith, Hz. Prophet, Writing of Hadiths, Orientalist.
