Historical bibliography of Osmaniye (Cebel-i Bereket) (1914-2000)

Bibliography studies, which have great importance in the scientific world that accelerate access to information, are increasing their importance with each passing day. Researchers who will conduct a scientific study almost competes with time to reach the sources of the subject they are dealing with in a short time. Because scientific studies that have many stages involve a process. It is extremely important to follow an accurate path in this process, which starts with the determination of the subject and continues with the literature review. The first thing that the researchersmust deal with is to reach the main sources of the subject and make the necessary reading. Then theymust add depth to the study by reading the references of sources. However, this method also offers a limited opportunity for researchers. The quality of the scientific studies to be conducted is directly associated with the fact that researchers have a rich literature knowledge. In this sense, bibliography studies that are prepared in specific fields not only provide convenience to researchers, but also prevent time losses and make the study productive. Creating an inventory of works on a particular subject necessitates great care as a serious and difficult task. In the present study that covered the years 1914-2000, information about the history of the bibliography was given, and research works were scanned in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives, Prime Ministry Republican Archives, ATASE Archives, TITE Archives, Turkish Historical Society Archives, Kızılay Archives, and other archives as well as Ottoman and Republican Period Parliamentary Minutes. As a result of the present study, an inventory of all kinds of documents and works on the History of Osmaniye was created, the findings were classified, and a bibliometric analysis was made in a chronological framework. It is considered that the study will guide the researchers and be the basis for new academic studies to be conducted in this field. Keywords: Osmaniye, Cebel-i Bereket, Bibliography, 1914-2000.
