A paramilitary youth organisation in the Ottoman State: Scouting

The changes that took place in the world in the 19th century, especially the ideas of nationalism and patriotism that emerged as a result of the French Revolution, also led to new regulations on military service. The fact that military service is a national duty has brought with it the methods of preparing young people for military service. This situation has manifested itself in all states and especially in Europe. Thus, a paramilitary organization that we call "people's armies" and an all-out struggle brought with it. As in Europe, the idea of establishing semi-military youth organizations in the Ottoman Empire and meeting the need for soldiers, II. It became an ideology of the Constitutional Monarchy Period and especially the Union and Progress Party period. In this context, semi-military associations and organizations began to be established in this period. These youth paramilitary organizations established in the world II. It started to be established in the Ottoman Empire during the Constitutional Monarchy period. Among these associations and organizations, Scouting Hearth, Ottoman Power Associations and Ottoman Youth Associations were established. In summary, in this study, II. While examining the Ottoman Scouting (Keşşaflık), Ottoman Power and Ottoman Youth Associations, which were a policy of the Constitutional Era Government, I tried to examine the Scout Organization, which constituted the starting point of the parmilitary youth associations, within the conditions of that period.
