Air combat power and activities of Ottoman Empire during the World War One (1914-1918)

The first world war has occupy an important place in the world history with its effects, qualification and bringing the innovations to the war environment. When considered from this point of aspect, it had become big and crucial changes in the warcraft with utilization of the airplanes that are to be a tactical and strategical vehicle in the war environment. The qualifications of the airplanes used as reconnaissance, surveillance, attack, bombardment, firing adjustment to the artillery units, transportation and psychological warfare instrument by means of throwing leaflets have increased their significance and worth. This case has caused that warring factions have increased their airplanes production capacity by finding out the power of this new war instrument. That period of change in the world has diversely been affected Ottoman Empires as well and has been sped up the procuring activity of airplanes. The Ottoman Empire, which went to the first world war with Germany in the central powers, had used the airplanes in the far extensive front line as militant instrument with the support from the central powers. In this study, the air war activities of Ottoman front lines in the first world war will be evaluated in the frame of today's using war principle. On the other hand, under the light of archive documents, it will reveal that how the airplanes come into play for the determining of the military tactic and strategy in the axis of scientific data.
