Abstract (EN)
This study examines the type of utopia works written in the Ottoman period in terms of philosophy. In the introduction part; the subject, sources and method of the study were explained. In the first chapter titled "The background of the subject"; utopia-type works, literary genres close to utopia, the relationship between utopia-philosophy and the existence of philosophy in the Ottoman Empire were investigated. In the second chapter, titled "Utopias of the Ottoman period", the following seven utopias were examined; Dream (1869) by Ziya Paşa, Dream (1874) by Namık Kemal, The Land of Comfort Muslims (1887) by İsmail Gaspıralı, Imagined Life (1898) by Hüseyin Cahit Yalçın, A Very Awake Sleep (1913) by İsmail Hakkı Kılıçoğlu, Rûşeni's Dream (1915/1916) by Hasan Ruşenî Barkın and Progress in Dream and View Islamic Civilization (1915/1916) by Molla Davutzade Mustafa Nazım Erzurumî. During this review; general information about the authors and works were given, the propositions of the works concerning philosophy were listed, these propositions were evaluated (in terms of realization, justification and usefulness), it was explained whether the work is utopia or not, and its main ideas were summarized. In the conclusion, these seven works were compared with their important points and a general evaluation was made. Keywords: utopia, reorganization, politics, state, dream.
