Abstract (EN)
The hospitality industry relies on workforce excellence and commitment, making performance appraisal and career management crucial to organizational success. This study examines the dynamics between these practices and their impact on organizational commitment and career management among hotel employees, highlighting the importance of specific HR practices in this industry. This study explores the impact of performance appraisal criteria and issues on organizational commitment and career management among hotel employees. The objective is to examine how performance appraisals and related challenges affect employees' commitment to their organizations and their career development strategies. A quantitative research design was used to collect data through a questionnaire distributed to 401 hotel employees. The responses were then rigorously analyzed. The study shows that perceptions vary depending on educational levels, suggesting that the effects of performance appraisals and career management strategies differ across educational backgrounds. The study confirms four main hypotheses. Firstly, performance appraisals have a positive influence on organizational commitment. Secondly, career management has a positive impact on organizational commitment. Thirdly, performance appraisals positively influence career management. Finally, career management mediates the impact of performance appraisals on organizational commitment. This study emphasizes the significance of effective performance appraisal and career management practices in enhancing organizational commitment among hotel employees in the hospitality industry. The study indicates that HR practices can be more effective when tailored to the educational background of employees. The validation of the hypotheses supports the relationship between performance appraisal, career management, and organizational commitment. These findings offer valuable insights for HR practitioners seeking to improve employee engagement and loyalty.
