Autonomous and shared vehicle management system

Nowadays, searches for different solutions to traffic and transportation problems in big cities are increasing day by day and in line with these searches, vehicle sharing system models are developing rapidly all over the World. Among the difficulties encountered in the management of vehicle sharing systems, decision making, assignment and balancing problems are in the first place under uncertainty due to the dynamic structure of the system. In this thesis, a decision support system prototype has been designed to solve the demand-based vehicle assignment problem within the scope of shared vehicle management systems. First of all, a database system suitable for the demand structure was developed for the designed decision support system prototype. Then, a user-friendly, web-based system interface was designed so that the requests can be easily recorded and viewed by the system administrator in order to be integrated with this database. In this study, the center of Bursa with high urban traffic density was selected, and parking stations were determined in 3 different locations, namely Yıldırım, Osmangazi and Nilüfer in the east-west direction, in order to meet the demands of the customers. A multi-commodity minimum cost network flow problem model has been used to solve the vehicle assignment problem, and it is thought that it will be beneficial in terms of efficiency for private sector enterprises, which are rapidly increasing for shared vehicle services, to use models similar to the decision support system designed in this study as optimization models.
