The specialties of keeping national and cultural expressions in translation of novels from Uzbek to Turkish language

In this thesis, how the cultural elements in selected prose works translated from Uzbek to Turkish language are transferred to the target text has been examined. The thesis consists of three parts apart from the Introduction. In the first chapter called Translation Studies, information about translation theories, genres and methods is given. Also in this section, the importance of interdialectal translation is emphasized, and the mistakes in vocabulary found in interdialectal translations are evaluated. In the second part, titled The Concept of Culture and Cultural Elements, the subject of culture and cultural elements is discussed in general. Theories about the emergence of culture are examined and the methods put forward by scientists in the transfer of cultural elements are included. In addition, in this section, information is given about the culture of greeting, clothing, food, hospitality, holiday celebration and wedding, which constitute the Uzbek culture. The third part of the thesis consists of Transferring Cultural Elements in Prose Works Transferred from Uzbek Turkish to Turkey Turkish. In this section, how and with which methods the cultural elements identified in selected prose works were transferred to the target text were examined.
