Abstract (EN)
One of the important problems discussed in the philosophy of mind recently is the qualia problem. The concept of qualia refers to the subjective nature of experience. The acceptance of the existence of qualia falsifies the views such as physicalism and materialism, which accept that everything is physical. Qualia points to a critical point that leads to consciousness based on the acceptance of mental elements, and to accept the existence of God based on the existence of consciousness. Daniel Dennett displays a reductionist attitude, arguing that there is no scientific evidence for the existence of qualia. However, the evolutionist physicalist view on which Dennett bases this thought has been criticized for having many inconsistencies within itself. The thesis consists of two parts. In the first chapter, the mind-body problem and the consciousness problem, which cause the qualia problem, are discussed. In the second part, the ideas put forward by Daniel Dennett about the qualia problem are examined and the objections to these ideas are examined. Key Words: Qualia, Mind-Body Problem, Consiousness, Argument from Consciousness, Dennett,
