The problems of the teachers working in the private establishment preparing students for various exams and the proposition for solution

This study is aimed to debate the problems of the teachers working in the private establishment preparing students for various exams and the propositions for solution. The research was carried on the teachers working in the education year, between 2007 and 2008 in Ankara. The questionnaire was applied on 120 teachers.The data of the survey was gathered by using Likert-type questions with four options, Equally Spaced Scale. The questions and the propositions were determined by mutual conversation with the teachers and the ex-studies about this topic. At the beginning, 9 main variables were used to determine personal informations and the professional status of these teachers, 50 was about the problems of history teachers in there main title, 50 was about the propositions for the solutions, as total 109 variables were questioned the participants. The results of the research were sent to computer and the percentage accounts of the data were made by using Excel programme.According to the results of the research, the majority of the teachers working in the private establishment preparing students for various exams is the young between 20 and 30 years old and has 1,5 years experience. And also, it is determined that most of them graduated from grad school did not want to work in these schools.The most marked problems of these teachers are the problems about the employee personal rights. When these teachers are compared to the teachers who are the personels of ministry of education, it is seen that these teachers do not have most of the rights, history teachers who are the personel of board of education have. The answers are frequently very high on the alternatives on `Totally Agree? and `Agree? were gathered from; paying the salaries not 12 months but 10 even 9 months in some institutions, weekly and daily heavy class load and not payment for these extra loads, demands for the extra working (such as observing in the exams, preparing questions) without payment, not permitting to use the off days and official holidays sufficiently, creating some problems on using medical reports, paying the insurance premiums in deficient, paying the salaries in missing or late. Considering the results,it is confirmed that the teachers in these institutions are not pleased with the conditions about the employee personal rights.When the results of the problem about education and instruction are taken on board,it is seen that there is a high frequency density on the alternatives on `Totally Agree? and `Agree? answers about low coefficient history questions on OSS, considered the history subject just indexed to the exam by the students, the differentiation between the formation of the teachers and the degrees of the class, giving courses from different degrees in the same day, being high daily and weekly teaching hours, not giving the teaching materials sufficiently and not making some activities such as tour or conference to strengthen the subject. When the results are taken into consider, it is seen that history teachers are not happy from the heaviness of the subjects on the existing examination system. Moreover it is seen that the processing of these institutions does not make glad the workers in many ways.About the problems of the administration of the institution, it is seen that there is a high frequency density on the alternatives on `Totally Agree? and `Agree? answers about not having enough experience of the administrators, seeing the student just as a customer, considering the teachers as trade materials, being seen the ideological view of the teachers as a criteria by the administration when evaluating the teachers, using the high number of unemployed teacher numbers as a trump in the period of merger of contract, not acting fairly and clearly of the administration on circumstances and rudiments written on the contract. When these results are taken into consideration, it can be said that a system depending on mutual confidence between administrators and workers was not created. Answered as `No? by most of the workers to the question,`Did you choose to work there voluntarily?? strengthens to this belief. When we look at the results of the questionnaire,although the majority of the teachers in these institutions are not happy because of working conditions, they continue to work in this sector due to not fall out of work.
