Abstract (EN)

The "Cold Forging" or "Plastic Forming" method is a cold forming method which enables the raw material to be formed in the form of a mold by applying compression force into a mold having the desired shape. In other words, it is a type of forging that takes advantage of the plastic deformation properties of metal materials at room temperature. It is designed by using plastic deformation of stainless steel raw material and by simulation to develop new product by using the most recent date digital technologies. In simulation application, operation and mold designs are examined before production and revisions are made according to simulation results and improvements are made in production and mold costs. In this study, with the Bolt Fasteners Co., cold deformation (plastic forming) properties of stainless steel raw material is investigated by using cold forging method which is one of plastic deformation methods, development of production process and simulation supported mold design for fastener. The product and the mold designs analyzed with using the finite element method. Simulation of the accuracy of the product geometry rather than being tested by the trial production provides advantages in the mold costs and work plan.
