Abstract (EN)
The research was carried out in the spring season of 2024, in the Modern Village region of Ramadi District, Anbar Province, in the northwest of the city (33°30'57.9"N 43°01'51.0"E). The study investigated the effects of sorbitol and nano-calcium applications on plant growth parameters, yield and quality in potato. The study, in which Burren potato variety was used as material, was planned as a randomized complete block design with 3 replications, and 3 concentrations for sorbitol (0 g l-1, 100 g l-1, 150 g l-1) and 3 concentrations for nano-calcium applications (0 g l-1, 2 g l-1, 4 g l-1) were included in the study. As a result of the study, 150 g l-1 dose of sorbital application stood out in plant growth and yield characteristics. In this application, the highest values were determined as dry vegetative mass weight (250,86 g plant⁻¹), tuber number (17,33 tubers plant⁻¹), tuber weight (167,84 g), tuber dry matter ratio (%16,21), stem number (9 stems plant⁻¹), leaf number (67,33 leaves plant⁻¹), tuber hardness (13,20 kg cm-²), alpha amylase ratio (3,384 units mg-1) and total phenol content (27,84 mg g-1). In nano-calcium application, 4 g plant⁻¹ level showed a significant effect on most of the vegetative growth and yield traits in the application. In this application, the highest values were determined compared to other concentrations as plant height (77,67 cm), total chlorophyll content (67,40 SPAD U.), tuber production average (1382,22 g), marketable yield average (70,03 ton ha-1), total yield average (73,72 ton ha-1), vitamin C content (21,66 mg 100 g-1) and total acidity ratio (%0,248). As a result of the study, it was seen that sorbitol and nano calcium applications had positive effects on plant growth, yield and quality traits in potato; 150 g l-1 dose for sorbitol and 4 g plant⁻¹ for nano calcium were the most effective doses.
