An examination of Paul Klee's art in the context of the Bauhaus years and lecture notes

This research aims to emphasize the importance of the Bauhaus in the history of modern art and to examine the art of the Swiss artist and educator Paul Klee, one of the prominent educators of this school, within the framework of today's art education and art history by examining the Bauhaus years and the content of the Basic Art Education course.Bauhaus, as a German art and design school operating between 1919 and 1933, made significant contributions to the development of modern art. In teaching programs; It combines art, craft and industry and includes functional, aesthetic and innovative applications. Paul Klee was a member of the Bauhaus teaching staff and directed the Basic Art Education course and taught students basic art principles such as abstract art, color theory, composition and form. This research aims to understand the concepts and teachings he offered to students by analyzing Klee's teaching methods in detail. At the same time, the analysis of the works produced by Klee during the Bauhaus period aims to reveal how the lecture notes were reflected in art practice and the reflections of the artists affected by Klee's theories on their own artistic production.The research aims to discuss how the findings can be evaluated in the context of today's art education and art history, and to make a significant contribution to understanding the effects of the legacy of Bauhaus in the field of modern art and basic design education.
