Abstract (EN)
Hydrological drought, which is defined as the lack of streamflows and subsurface flows, is a natural calamity that might bring about significant ecological issues. While the standardized runoff index is the most frequent way for determining the severity and frequency of hydrological drought, the entropy method, which is based on the acquisition of information from hydrological processes, is a relatively recent method for characterizing that kind of drought. The objective of the thesis study was to adapt the apportionment entropy (AE) approach to the streamflow projections of the Gordes watershed and to investigate the information collected about the process as a time series, and then the analyses were compared to those produced by SRI. Streamflows were projected using a conceptual hydrological model following statistical downscaling and bias correction of precipitation and temperature outputs from the HADGEM2-ES global climate model under two emission scenarios for the period 2021-2050. Examining the classifications of hydrological drought intensities reveals that the AE is incompatible with the standard approach, SRI, and that the utility of this method in the long-term hydrological drought evaluation might be unreliable.
