Abstract (EN)

The concept of performance analysis is one of the important concepts that businesses can use to gain a competitive advantage in the market by excelling in areas such as production, inventory, and others compared to their competitors. In recent years, many businesses have successfully adapted the Performance Based Logistics (PBL) concept to their processes, resulting in more efficient and effective use of resources, thereby providing economic benefits by reducing waste. The starting point of this study is the limited number of studies on the outlook of PBL implementation in the private sector. This study aims to examine PBL processes, highlight the differences from classical logistics processes, and test whether cost advantages can be achieved and the impact on businesses using statistical techniques. In this context, the study conducted for Turkish automotive industry suppliers includes research on increasing main product activity ratios, reducing cost inputs, and increasing profitability through the PBL approach. In this study, a theoretical framework is established by first providing information about the concepts of logistics and PBL. A literature review was conducted to introduce PBL processes, which have begun to be discussed in the literature for more efficient and effective logistics support in competitive markets, to determine performance criteria, and to measure these identified parameters. Four hypotheses were formed based on the PBL literature, and all were confirmed. Accordingly, PBL positively affects the quality, efficiency, and growth of businesses individually while simultaneously positively impacting all three variables. Thus, it is planned to contribute to the field of PBL, which was initially implemented in United States and is widely used in the defence industry, with the information produced in this study.
