Abstract (EN)

Aim: It is aimed to evaluate serum copeptin and TAS/TOS levels in patients with perinatal asphyxia, to investigate the relationship between copeptin and TAS/TOS levels in the follow-up and treatment of perinatal asphyxia, and to contribute to future studies. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study, 48 perinatal asphyxia patients followed in the neonatal intensive care unit and 40 healthy control groups were included and 2 cc venous blood samples were taken during the hypothermia treatment window period of the patients diagnosed with perinatal asphyxia. The collected venous blood samples were centrifuged at 3500 rpm for 10 minutes. The shaped elements were then discarded together with the tube, while the upper plasma samples were stored for analysis at -80 °C. OSI and Copeptin were studied with the Elisa method from the stored samples. Statistical analysis of the obtained data was performed using SPSS 22.0 (SPSS® for Windows Chicago, IL, USA) package program. Results: Patients diagnosed with perinatal asphyxia in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Harran University Faculty of Medicine were included in the study. In our study, there are two groups, the patient group and the healthy control group. The patient group included in the study consisted of 48 patients, 27 male and 21 female. The control group consists of 40 patients, 20 male and 20 female patients. A statistically significant difference was found between the TAS/TOS ratio and the OSI value obtained in perinatal asphyxia patients between the healthy control group (p<0.05). Statistically significant difference was found between copeptin levels between perinatal asphyxia patients and healthy control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: The fact that TAS/TOS and Copeptin are significantly higher in perinatal asphyxia patients compared to the control group shows that these two molecules can be used in the evaluation and follow-up of the severity of the disease in perinatal asphyxia. Keywords: Perinatal Asphyxia TAS, TOS, OSI, Copeptin
