Investigation of the views of classroom teachers working within the scope of PIKTES project on teaching Turkish

In this study, the opinions of the classroom teachers working within the scope of the PIKTES project on teaching Turkish were discussed.The teachers expressed their opinions by filling out the interview forms in terms of four basic skills, materials, methods and techniques, the training received and the problems experienced.The research was carried out according to the phenomenology pattern from the qualitative research method.The answers obtained from the opinions of 20 teachers working within the scope of PIKTES in public schools affiliated to the Hatay Provincial Directorate of National Education were analyzed by content analysis method.As a result of the research, it was determined that the classroom teachers working within the scope of PIKTES had problems in certain areas in teaching Turkish.According to the results, speaking and writing skills, course materials, cultural differences, language and alphabet differences are the most obvious problems.On the other hand, it was concluded that the teachers improved themselves in terms of the contributions of the trainings, professional development and gaining experience, measurement and evaluation, and the methods and techniques used.
