Abstract (EN)

Technological developments; It triggers withdrawal from physical activity, unhealthy eating and drinking culture and, as a natural result, a sedentary lifestyle. The World Health Organization states that physical activity and proper nutrition can play a key role in a healthy life and a good quality of life. Since physical activity and healthy nutrition are thought to be very important, it was aimed to examine the relationship between physical activity levels and nutritional habits of individuals doing pilates exercise in Diyarbakır. While the population of the research includes individuals who actively go to pilates halls and do pilates exercises in Diyarbakır, the sample consists of 318 people selected by random sampling method. In order to collect data, the participants filled out a 9-question personal information form prepared by the researcher, as well as the International physical activity survey and healthy nutrition attitude scale. The data obtained was analyzed with the SPSS 26.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, firstly, normality test was performed; t-test was used for parametrically distributed binary variables, while Mann-Whitney U test was applied for non-parametrically distributed variables. To statistically test scale dimensions with more than two variables, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied for parametrically distributed variables, and the Kruskal Wallis-H test was applied for multiple nonparametrically distributed variables. Linear regression test was used to determine the effect between the scales. In the statistical analysis, the significance level was accepted as p<0.05 to determine the difference between the groups. While a significant difference was detected between the attitude scale towards healthy nutrition and gender, marital status, age, height, education, profession, working years and income levels of individuals doing Pilates exercise, no significant difference was detected in terms of weight. With the international physical activity survey, while a significant difference was detected with age, height, education, profession, years of work and income status, no significant difference was found between gender, marital status and weight variables. In addition, as a result of the correlation analysis, it was determined that there were positive significant relationships between the physical activity levels of the individuals who participated in the study and doing pilates exercise and their sub-dimensions related to healthy eating attitudes.
