Abstract (EN)
The phenomenon of globalization has led to change and transformation in many areas. One of the most striking effects of globalization which has led to dynamic transformations in economy, political institutions, socio-cultural values, science and technology is seen in the increase of international student mobility. As in the world, in Turkey especially in Çankırı Karatekin University, the number of international students is increasing. It has been observed a sharp increase in the number of international students especially students from Djibouti studying at Çankırı Karatekin University in only 3 years. The aim of this study was to find out the reason for this strong increase in the number of Djiboutian students at Çankırı Karatekin University and to determine through the theory of planned behaviour the intention of Djiboutian students which are in Djibouti to study or not at Çankırı Karatekin University. As a research method a questionnaire form was used.According to the results of the study, when evaluated within the scope of the theory of planned behaviour, it was determined that while students' intention to study at Çankırı Karatekin University was positively affected by attitude and subjective norm towards studying abroad, the perceived behavioral control component did not have a significant effect on the intention to study at Çankırı Karatekin University. It was observed that the motivational factors (intrinsic experiences and intrinsic liberty) included in the study positively affected students' attitudes towards studying abroad and that economic obstacles negatively affected students' attitudes. İn addition, according to the findings, it has been determined that while the image of Çankırı Karatekin University affected postively students' intention to study in Karatekin University, country image (image of Turkey) didn't have a significant effect on the intention of studying at Çankırı Karatekin University. Finally, it was seen that traditional and commercial electronic word-of-mouth marketing positively affected students' intentions to study at Çankırı Karatekin University.
