Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, a new system has been developed using ping technology to monitor the operational status of devices and machines in industrial facilities in real time. The system was implemented using software created with the Python programming language. Through this approach, devices and machines can be determined to be either active or inactive by regularly pinging their IP addresses on the network. In the case of successful ping results, specific addresses in the data blocks on the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) connected to the facility are set, while in the case of failed ping results, these addresses are reset. This information is reflected to operators via the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, providing an opportunity for immediate intervention in the event of a fault or stoppage. This project aims to enhance the efficiency of monitoring machines and other devices in industrial automation processes, thereby increasing productivity and energy savings in production processes. The developed system can be applied to any facility with network infrastructure and aims to minimize production losses caused by faults by accelerating maintenance and repair processes. This system offers installation and usage at a lower cost compared to existing methods. In this study, the design and development processes of the system have been examined in detail and implemented in the field. Furthermore, the system's performance has been evaluated through various tests. The results obtained demonstrate that the developed system makes a significant contribution to monitoring the status of devices and machines in industrial environments.
