Abstract (EN)

Water-based poly (vinyl acetate-co-dioctyl maleate) (VAc-co-DOM) latexes were synthesized by semi-batch emulsion polymerization process in five different monomer ratios to investigate for using as pressure-sensitive adhesive. To determine the effect of different monomer ratio on the resulting copolymer latexes and their films different characterization methods were applied. Silica particles were added in VAc-co-DOM latexes in five different ratios with direct mixing method to improve physical and adhesive properties of these latexes. The effect of silica filler content on the particle size and particle size distribution, viscosity, zeta potential and surface tension was investigated. Composite latex films were characterized by using FTIR, DSC and goniometer. The results of characterization showed that composites which contain different ratios of inorganic particle, silica, are homogeneous structure. In order to determine the adhesive properties of the composite latexes, 180 ?peel test and loop tack test were applied. It was determined that increasing silica content in composite latexes improve the adhesive properties and increase the adhesion strength of these latexes.
