Abstract (EN)
The implementation of economic policies by political authorities during election periods, implemented as a requirement of the democratic process, to win elections constitutes the literature on "Political Business Cycle Theories." In this thesis, several economic variables were examined using the FNARDL analysis method to determine whether the assumptions of political business cycle theories were valid for the general election periods held in Turkey between 1980 and 2025. The findings indicate that political business cycles did not occur in Turkey during the relevant period.
