Abstract (EN)
The Ney instrument has a mystical meaning in the Mevlevi School. In today's popular music production, the Ney is used in different musical and semantic constructs besides its identity in the Mevlevi musical tradition. The Ney, which was encountered in a popular and productive fashion, became a means of expression in a language similar to mysticism, which emerged through the imitation of the literary language in Mevlana's mesnevi. In this study titled "Ney Use in Popular Music and Postmodern Approaches", the Ney was evaluated within the framework of the concept of kitsch and the idea that this tradition was deformed in some popular music use.
