Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to reveal the relationships between depression and anxiety levels experienced by women with premenstrual period. For this purpose, the relationship between anxiety and depression variables and related demographic variables was also tried to be revealed. At the same time, the levels of differentiation between demographic variables and the dependent variables of the study (anxiety and depression) were also discussed. The study was carried out with a relation-seeking scanning model. The collection of the relevant data was carried out on the internet using the survey method. In order to determine the levels of depression and anxiety, which are the research variables, validity and reliability in Turkey and openly accessible 'Beck Depression Scale' and 'Beck Anxiety Scale' were used. The study group of the research consists of 300 women in the premenstrual period living in Istanbul. Computer-based statistics program (SPSS) was used in the analysis and interpretation of the related data. While skewness and kurtosis values were used to determine whether the scales used in the study had a normal distribution, the internal consistency values of the variables were examined as reliability analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was found that they had internal consistency values of 0.73 for depression and 0.79 for anxiety. Correlation and regression analyzes were used in the study to reveal the relationships between the related variables. According to the research findings, a linear moderately strong significant relationship was found between depression and anxiety in women in the premenstrual period. The finding shows that as depression increases in women in the premenstrual period, their anxiety also increases. Keywords: Premestrual Syndrome, Depression, Anxiety
