Abstract (EN)

Chronic renal failure is a serious health problem due to higher mortality, morbidity and cost rates both in our country and all over the world. A-V fistula is a common pathway for vascular access in patients on hemodialysis, performed in approximately %90 of patients. Major problem of A-V fistula is failure of fistula that is frequently observed. Many previous reports researched effect of DM, obesity, age, gender and replacement of central venous catheteron the same side with A-V fistula on primary A-V fistula failure. Our aim is to evaluate role of insuline resistance as an additional risk factor in primary A-V fistula failure, beside other risk factors mentioned above.
