Abstract (EN)
In this research, it is animed to state to what extent counseling skills of counseling trainess is predicted by the counseling self- efficacy, emotions management and Personality Traits and to examine the counseling skills according to different variables. Scanning model is used in the research. Study group consists of the 4. grade students of Educational Sciences Depertment, Faculty of Education, Guidance and the department of Psychological Counseling of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Dokuz Eylül University, Necmettin Erbakan Universty and Akdeniz Universty and also voluntary 228 counselor trainees who took the lesson of "Personal Psychological Counseling Practice." The datum of the resarch is gathered by the personal information form which is made by researcher, the scale of Psychological Counseling Skill Discrimination (PCSD) which is developed by Lee al. (1976) and is adapted to Turkish culture by Yaka (2005), the scale of Psychological Counseling Self-Efficacy (PCSE) which is developed by Lent, Hill and Hoffman (2003) and is adapted to Turkish culture by Pamukçu and Demir (2013), the scale of Emotion Management Skills (EMS) being studied in validity and reliability which is developed by Çeçen (2006) and the inventory of Five Factor Personality Traits (FFPT) which is developed by Donahue and Kentle (1991) and is adapted to Turkish culture by Alkan (2007). In the analysis of the datum, t-test of in dependent groups related to differencess, Pearson Moment product correlation coefficient to determine the relation of variables and multiple regression analyssis to determine to what extent the variables predict the psychological counseling skills are used. The datum are analyzed with SPSS programme. The level of significance is measured .05 in prediction of findings. According to the results of the resarch, it is concluded that the gender and the variables of previous psychological counseling experiences don't create a significant difference on the skills of psychological counseling of the psychological counseling trainees. Also, it is concluded that there are positive signficant connetions between the psychological counseling skills of psychological counseling trainees and their skills of emotion management, their personality traits and psychological counselin self-efficacy. Related to the main problem of the research, it is councluded that the psychological counseling skills of counseling trainees is predicted in a significant extent by emotions management and personality traits; however, it is concluded that the psychological counseling skills of counseling trainees is not predicted in a significant extent by counseling self-efficacy.
