The mediating role of psychological well-being on the relationship between psychological safety and turnover intention: A research in accommodation businesses

This study aims to investigate the mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between psychological safety and turnover intention in accommodation establishments affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Nevşehir province.The research is causal and explanatory in nature, as it aims to reveal the mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between psychological safety and turnover intention among employees working in accommodation establishments in Nevşehir province. Demographic characteristics, Psychological Safety Scale, Turnover Intention Scale, and Psychological Well- being Scale were used to collect data from the 425 participants in the study. The obtained data was analyzed using SPSS 22 program. After descriptive statistics, correlation, simple regression, and hierarchical regression analyses related to hypothesis tests were performed. As a result of the analysis, there was a meaningless and negative relationship between psychological security and intention to leave; It has been determined that there is a significant and positive relationship between psychological well-being and psychological safety. In addition, it was determined that psychological well-being did not mediate the relationship between psychological safety and intention. to leave. It is thought that this study will make importand contributions to the organizational behavior literatüre and the establishment of an organization in which the psychological safety environment will be prioritized.
