Abstract (EN)
This study, titled "Transcription and Evaluation of Stamp Magazine," transcribes and evaluates issues 1-10 of Pul Magazine, considered Turkey's first philatelic magazine. Pul Magazine began publication in August 1897. Published regularly, this magazine is an important resource for stamps and stamp collecting. Its status as a philatelic magazine is one of its most significant distinguishing features. The magazine's editor-in-chief, Mehmed Ekrem Bey, is also its owner and director. Ahmed Kemal Bey joined the magazine as editor-in-chief after the third issue. While the magazine already boasts a scientific and literary journal on the cover of each issue, Ahmet Kemal Bey's addition has seen a surge in its literary influence. Despite numerous theses, articles, and studies on the Postal Service in the literature, a transcription and evaluation of a magazine devoted to stamps has yet to be conducted. Therefore, this study aims to fill this gap in the literature. The magazine is an important resource for examining stamps issued worldwide. The stamp images it contains are intriguing, and it also provides information on the colors and prices of stamps used during the period. The establishment of associations dedicated to stamp and stamp collecting today demonstrates the growing interest in this field. This study will shed light on the history of stamps, the emergence of stamps, the origins of communication, the characteristics of stamps issued worldwide, and much more. The Pul Magazine not only provides information on stamp and stamp collecting from past to present, but also serves as a significant cultural resource with its poetry, stories, and texts. The Pul Magazine's publication period of 1897-1898 was significant in the development of society. Keywords: Stamp, Stamp Collection, Communication
