Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that cause bone loss and investigate the causes of peri-implantitis based on the questionnaire and radiographic examination of patients with bone loss around the implant. The first part of the study involved developing a theoretical framework for peri-implantitis and conducting a literature review; the second part involved conducting and concluding a questionnaire study. Patients with peri-implant bone loss defect were chosen as survey participants. Due to the pandemic, the data collection process for this study was deprived of the clinical process, only an evaluation on the film and questionnaire were made to the patients. The definition peri-implantitis is not used for the participants because of the clinical examination part was not performed, but expressed as patients with peri-implant defects on the radiograph. As a result, patients suffering from bone loss were included in the survey. The study concluded that presence of complications, painkillers and antibiotic usage, antagonist tooth type factors, and fixed prostheses increase the number of healthy implants were the only factors that were statistically significant on bone loss.
