Abstract (EN)
Local flaps are prefered for skin defect closure, because of best color and tissue match. The antioxidants were found to be most effective among the pharmocological agents in order to overcome the flap necrosis risks and flap lenght limitations in random flaps elevated wıthout a known blood supply. In this study, the possible effects of Co-enzyme Q10 on flap survival was investigated, knowing its effects on preventing the membrane lipid peroxydation, inflammation and wound healing. As a result, orally and parentally administered Co-enzyme Q10 was found to increase the flap survival in a rat dorsal flap model. Besides, it has an anti-inflamatory effect and was found to prevent apoptosis.
