Terceme-i Ahlâk-ı Muhsinî of Rıdvan b. Abdulmennân (1b-85b, review-text)

Morality, with the characteristics that human beings have brought from the beginning and that cause the person to be qualified as good or bad; It has been an issue that concerns every individual and society in the historical process. The ideas and ideal views of the nations who accepted Islam on morality have been developed based on the Quran and hadiths. With the adoption of Islam, when moral works were written in Arabic, Persian and Turkish literatures, Islamic morality was studied and common aspects were emphasized. It is known that in Classical Turkish literature, the importance is given to religious-moral bets and many works have been written on this subject. Besides the copyrighted ethics books in Classic Turkish literature the number of works translated from Arabic and Persian is quite high. Among these, there is a work named Ahlak-ı Muhsinî, written in 900/1494-95 by Hüseyin Vâiz-i Kâşifî (d. H 910/M 1504-1505), one of the authors of Persian literature. One of the translations of the book, which has been translated into Turkish every century was written by Rıdvân son of Andulmennân. There are forty chapters in which subjects such as worships, prayer, thank you, patience, decency, humility, loyalty and justice are discussed under separate headings. Each religious-moral concept is explained by verses, hadiths, stories, proverbs, Arabic, Persian and Turkish poems appropriate to the subject. The moral characters that should be in an ideal manager are accepted as forty. Some of these values are between the ruler and Allah, and some are between the people and the ruler. Therefore, the author divided his work into forty chapters. The work has codes representing the late Middle Ages period of Persian moral literature. In the work, which has a complex language, the author's style is fluent in explaining elegant and beautiful subjects. Each concept is first explained as a term and then the verses and hadiths related to the subject are included. While explaining the concepts discussed in the work, the stories related to the subject were included, and narrative narration was preferred in this way. Especially the persons in the stories are Islamic elders or persons considered important in Arabic and Persian literature. In this study, the subject of ethics was mentioned and information was given about the life and works of Hüseyin Vâiz-i Kâşifî and Rıdvân b. Abdülmennân. The texts between the leaves 1b-85b were examined and the necessary determinations were made.
