Investigation of the relationship between the vocational qualifications of the recreation department students, the anxiety of employment and their career planning

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the vocational qualifications of university students, their anxiety about finding a job and their career planning. For this purpose, the universe and sample group of the current study; Aydın Adnan Menderes University consists of 181 students studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences. In this context, the relevant data from the students included in the research were collected through google forms. In this study, in which vocational competence, job anxiety and career planning scales were used, SPSS 26. Program was used in the analysis of the data obtained from the students. Accordingly, the skewness and kurtosis values of the data obtained from the students were examined and it was determined that the vocational competence and career planning scales provided normal distribution. In this context, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used when making comparisons in the study. In cases where one-way analysis of variance was used and a significant difference was detected, the Games Howell test was used because the variances were not distributed homogeneously. It has been determined that the job anxiety scale within the scope of the research does not provide a normal distribution. According to this; Mann Whitney U test and Kruskall Wallis H test were used while making comparisons about job anxiety. In cases where a significant difference was detected using the Kruskall Wallis H test, the Mann Whitney U test with field Bonferroni correction was used. In the study; Spearman correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between professional competence, career planning and job anxiety. As a result of this research, in which the professional competence, career planning and job finding concerns of the students studying at Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Sport Sciences were examined; It has been determined that as the level of professional competence increases, the level of career awareness and the anxiety of finding a job also increase. This result obtained in the study shows that the development of students' professional competencies has an effect on their career planning. KEYWORDS: Occupation, Career, Anxiety
